Robina Area Profile
OVERVIEW
Robina is a major regional hub and economic centre 11 km from
Surfers Paradise. The area has significant infrastructure
with transport links, public & private schools, a university
(Law, Medicine & Business) and a hospital.
There are well planned recreational facilities including championship
golf courses. A diverse range of housing options from apartments
to freehold houses offers a high quality lifestyle for residents.
HISTORY
In 1981 Robina was little more than grazing land and scrub.
At this time Dr Robin Loh, a Singaporean business identity,
purchased 20sq km of land that is now a well conceived master-planned
satellite city.
NATURAL WONDERS
The nearby magnificent Lake Orr takes in part of Varsity Lakes
waterways.
RETAIL, COMMERCIAL & INDUSTRIAL
Robina has abundant transport infrastructure including a rail
link to Brisbane and is well positioned to major arterials
heading North, South and East.
As of 2006, a variety of commercial buildings cater for a
variety of white collar workers for industries including Government
departments, Information Technology, Medicine and Property.
Robina Town Centre is the suburb's major retail shopping centre
and has in excess of 220 specialty stores, supermarkets, restaurants,
cafés and cinemas.
Excellent employment opportunities are available locally as
a result of the flourishing retail, education and health industries.
Consequently the population has been increased over 7% during
2004-2005.
An array of championship Golf Courses such as The Glades,
Robina Woods and The Colonial are well placed in and around
Robina.
SCHOOLS
Bond University, an internationally acclaimed private Australian
university is located in neighbouring Varsity Lakes.
The Gold Coast city has a wide range of public & private
schools, universities and technical colleges.

Townhouses have risen 84% over the seven years from 1999-2006
